Workshop at Kerala

Dr. D R Agarwal delivered a talk on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and Patents for Coir Products” in the workshop on 24th February, 2009 at Hotel Royal Park, Alappuzha, Kerala.
The eminent personalities attended the workshop were Mr. P. Mahadevan, CEO, Travancore Cocotuft (P) Ltd., Mr Mathew Joseph, CMD, Palm Fibre (India) Pvt. Ltd., Mr. N. Venugopal, Director, The Alleppey Company Ltd. The workshop was organised by Cluster Plus (www.alappuzhabds.com) and sponsored by FICEA, SiDBI, DFID, CSC, TCMMMA and ICA.

IP Forum in Hong Kong

Dr.D R Agarwal attended "The 5th Annual Asia Pacific IP Forum, 2008" at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong on 4-5th November, 2008. The Topics of Summit was "Tackle online counterfeit sellers" and "How to Protect your brands online".




2 day worskop on IP Rights and Management, 30th and 31st May, 2008, Kolkata

ITAG in colloaboration with its knowledge partner, Institue of International Trade, organised a Two day Workshop on Intellectual Property Rights and Management for its all India team, on 30th and 31st May, 2008.

The workshop was divided into practical and technical sessions. On Day1 i.e. 30th, Dr. D.R. Agarwal addressed the opening of the technical session on General Introduction on IPR and IP Asset Management. An in-depth knowledge on Overview of Patent Filing and Procedures and Patent Cooperative Treaty (PCT) was presented by two delegates from the Indian Patent Office, Kolkata, viz. Dr. S. K. Barik and Dr. A. Das, (both Examiner of Patents and Designs respectively), which were further followed by a session on Prior Art Search, presented by Mr. Biswarup Chakraborty. Mr. Abhinandan Mohapatra explained the Trademark Filing Procedures in India. Finally, Ms. Puja Bhupal presented a paper on Passing – Off in Trademarks. Finally the Day 1 was concluded by helding an open house discussion.

On Day 2, i.e. 31st of May, practical sessions were held in which Mr. N.K. Pandey, gave a briefing on Business Strategies which was followed by a presentation on Information Security by Mr. Anurag Agarwal (Director, Board of Studies, Institute of International Trade). A complete perception on practical technicalities of Prior Art Search was delivered by Mr. Biswarup Chakraborty. After which an elaborated practical session on Indian Patent filing and filing on International application with the PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) was delivered by Mrs. Lipika Pain. Mr. Abhinandan Mohapatra gave a demonstration on Trademark application which was followed by a brief lecture on design by Mr. Biswarup Chakraborty. Thereafter Momentoes were given to the participants by Mr. N.K. Pandey. Finally the session came to an end with an open house discussion.

Programme on IP Awareness

Institute of International Trade in association with ITAG conducted an awareness program on Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship at St. Xavier's College, Kolkata on 19th April, 2008. The team consisted of Shradha Diwan, a research scholar of the Institute of International Trade, Sidharth Jaiswal and Puja Bhupal of ITAG.

Mr. Anurag Agarwal participated in ‘Ind Ac 2008—Workshop on IP & its Commercialization’ on 5th and 6th April 2008, organized by Sponsored Research & Industrial Consultancy (SRIC), Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Kharagpur (WB).


Awareness Programme on E-Filling of Patent and Trade Mark

ITAG team attended an awareness programme on E-filing of Patents/Trade Mark application held at the Conference hall of the Indian Patent and Trademark Office, Kolkata, Government of India on 1st March 2008.

Ms. Surabhi Srivastav attended a workshop on “Lecture Series on Pharmaceutical Patents” organized by the  Academy of Intellectual Property Studies (AIPS) on 4th Feb. 08 at Hotel Mirador, Andheri West, Mumbai.


Consultancy Congress Outsourcing Role of Consultants

Mr. Gupta, Head of IP actively participated in a Consultancy Congress on Outsourcing Role of Consultants held on 15 and 16 January 2008 in New Delhi. It has been organized by Consultancy Development Centre (CDC) which is an autonomous organization and a body of DSIR, Ministry of Science and Technology.  With a versatile portfolio its main mission is to improve business climate and promote consultancy profession through capacity building, sharing best practices and incorporating quality, integrity and sustainability in consultancy services.


"EU-India TIDP half day IPR Workshop"

ITAG participated as logistic partner in EU-India Trade and Investment Development Programme (TIDP) in collaboration with Institute of International Trade, Kolkata on a half day workshop on IPR. Dr D. Kebschull, Chief Coordinator of EU-India TIDP was the Chief Guest.
